OSPRI were already using the inReach device on the Tracertrak platform. Their H&S manager knew they weren’t quite getting maximum benefit from the solution. They needed a review of the way the platform and devices had been configured and they had never tested their monitoring service; so it was time to look for a provider that will deliver end-to-end administration and total confidence for OSPRI managers.
Guardian Angel were provided the password to their Tracertrak account and a detailed scope of works. We set to work to optimise it. Guardian Angel have a number of clients using this solution, and it’s fair to say the Tracertrak platform is not the most intuitive! Due to the hours and hours and hours and hours (!) we have spent on this platform, we’ve learned all the tricks and short cuts to ensure clients are set up in a way that suits their environment and risk best. This includes us designing processes and response around their use of the platform, configuring the inReach device to suit. Delivering good solid end user training and support caps it off. All the cogs working together to deliver a safe solution for staff out of cell cover.
We found a number of opportunities for improvement, including one device not having been activated on the iridium network, and devices not used for over 3 months. Something we spotted straight away, but for end users who are not used to the device and the way the technology works, is an easy thing to miss.
We will be doing a full commissioning round of all the OSPRI inReach devices in Wellington at the end of the month, pointing them all to the Guardian Angel monitoring centre and delivering full end user training ready to go live on 1st August. We’re excited to be working with them to get true Guardian Angel level Peace of Mind.
